Notes from an August check-in
Breakfast was calm and competent. Nothing theatrical — fresh enough, served without hurry, the kind of morning that lets you plan the day instead of hunting for coffee.
The bathroom was modern and clean, with practical lighting and enough counter for the small rituals of travel. Water pressure held. The small things worked.
Better than expected: the sense of space in the room. Guests keep calling the rooms big, and they are right. I noticed the volume of air before I noticed the view.
The honest annoyance: front-desk clarity can wobble when bookings arrive through third parties. I watched a careful correction unfold for another guest. Not catastrophic — but worth confirming your reservation details aloud at check-in.
The bed was firm in a way I like. Evening light across Etobicoke softened the edges of the glass. I slept through the night with only a distant murmur from the busier floors.
Was it worth it? Qualitatively, yes for a staycation mood — pool access, a theatrical lobby, and a room that feels like an actual escape from the city rhythm. I would send couples and families who want an all-in resort pulse. I would not send anyone chasing a hushed boutique hideaway.
